Cupping at Blendin Coffee Club

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to visit BlendIn Coffee Club in Sugar Land, Texas, right outside Houston. Blendin was founded in 2017 by Weihong Zhang, a former biochemist turned coffee expert. They have recently expanded from strictly operating their cafes to becoming a national distributor for their exceptional coffees. They’re all about quality, which was clear the moment I stepped inside and saw the lineup of amazing coffees ready for tasting.

We tried 16 different coffees from all over the world, including three absolutely outstanding Panamanian Geishas. Geishas are already in a league of their own, but these three were truly exceptional—each one with its own unique flavors that totally lived up to the hype. Leading the tasting was Zachary Ennen, who couldn’t have been a better guide. His knowledge and passion for coffee are next-level, and he broke down each coffee’s aroma, flavor, and background in a way that made everything come to life.

One of my absolute favorites was the Llionis Martinez coffee. The aroma was bold and unmistakable. When I tasted it, the tootsie roll notes that I had previously tasted before selecting this for last week’s drop hit me again. This coffee is exactly why I’m so excited to keep discovering and sharing incredible coffees with the Nectarous family.

After the tasting, I picked up my boxes of Llionis Martinez and shipped them out to the lucky folks that ordered them this week. I can’t wait to continue to partner with Blendin again and even share some of their higher end coffees with you. This visit reminded me why I love what I do—and why coffee is so much more than a morning routine. Cheers to more unforgettable cups ahead!
